My son loves animals so a safari themed birthday was an easy choice. It also helped that we just designed his room in the same theme, so we had a lot of the items already like the large stuffed giraffe and lion and several animal figurines from Schleich. Most of the items are bought or gifted from Lemonade Party Box, check out their Safari Birthday themed items here.

I got to make a few things for this party including the binoculars made from toilet paper rolls, safari themed duct tape and some string. Tutorial here. I also made party hats for my sons safari animals, tutorial here. Both items added a DIY touch and made his safari party that much more sweet. Plus all the kids loved the binoculars, a take home gift for guests and loved trying the party hats on their favourite animals.

You can use animal crackers for party snacks that can also be used as a party favours. How cute are these platters? You can find them here. Monstera leaf also adds to the table scape and a bonus to re-use for a dinosaur birthday, our plan for next year. I actually bought these second hand but you can find something similar here.

Cupcakes are a good go to for cake because you can make them yourself (saving $). They can also be dressed up in so many ways. These cupcakes turned party cakes have party hats and pompoms on toothpicks with cupcakes liners in colours that match the theme. I kept the plates and cups simple as there is a lot going on with the other decor. Simplicity helps keep things grounded, balancing out the busyness.

So there you have it! A safari theme birthday which could also easily be a jungle theme or go wild theme.

I hope you got some inspiration from this post and throw your little one a safari birthday!
